System Monitor Indicator For Unity Panel In Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot
If you install the new version of Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot you will notice that it comes with Unity installed in order to make a better OS experience. That could be very well true, but I do like to see my system monitor and see how my PC is behaving. Now, it can not be easily done with unity, but if you would like to do it, go to the link below and you will be able to find steps by using PPA in order to get your system monitor on unity. Also, if you don’t like unity you could go back to gnome, but that is something different that is not being cover in this article.

Encrypt flashdrive using TrueCrypt
i currently wanted to encrypt my USB flash drive or jump drive and didn’t really find a good solution on the web on how to do it. couple of the other solutions that i found were about having the encryption on such a drive and then i needed that computer in order to access it. this solution will allow you to encrypt the flash drive or jump drive an then be able to access it on any computer.
- download TrueCrypt from truecrypt.org
- open truecrypt (make sure that you have already inserted the flash drive or jump driev)
- hit “Create Volume”
- go through the wizard but make sure that you create a volume and then move it to your flash drive
